I work at the intersection of CAD and GIS. With almost 45 years of experience as a surveyor, software developer at NedGraphics and international business consultant at Autodesk EMEA, I am now working as an independent consultant with a focus on Autodesk software.
Technically very knowledgeable, team player, team leader (Scrum/Agile), supporter, connector and solution-oriented. Analytical, communicative, think about constructive solutions from the customer's perspective, with the necessary humour.

Since 2009 I have been an entrepreneur – van der Pol-Consulting bv – and I work as a software consultant for various clients.
In May 2006 I became the new GIS Consulting Solution Executive in the Benelux. After a pilot period, the CSC program started in EMEA in February 2007 and I became the first Senior Customer Success Consultant.
In May 2001 I started working as a GIS Technical Sales Mngr for the EMEA GIS Sales Exec Team. A technical resource for your own team, as well as the sales teams in the regions and for the resellers.
In July 1998 I joined Autodesk in the Benelux GIS team, as a GIS Application Engineer. Responsible for reseller support, technical presentations & pilots for potential customers, road-shows and seminars.
In 1995 the TopoCAD software department was taken over by NedGraphics. I became the product mngr of TopoCAD, responsible for the future strategy of the product.
After the bankruptcy of Optronics, the core business was taken over by Rocomp. The development of TopoCAD continued and the user group was established.
We sold surveying equipment, computers, peripherals and software. In 1984 we started developing TopoCAD; A surveying software package that works ICM. AutoCAD.
As a surveyor, I was involved in various projects at home and abroad; including survey operator on the ships involved in the construction of the Oosterschelde Storm Surge Barrier and survey consultant on a water pipeline project in Saudi Arabia.
